Ronda Rousey knocked out Miesha Tate in under a minute in Tate had been in Mixed Martial Arts for almost a decade. Fighting in her 23rd bout and 2nd championship clash in the UFC, she was determined to make this fight be the one where she ascended to the pinnacle of the division. She stuck to her gameplan which was to get the kickboxer, Holly Holm, onto the ground to make the fight more interesting for herself. This combined with her having learned from previous fights saw Tate submit the champion Holly Holm to become the Undisputed Bantamweight Champion of the world. She managed to get on top of Holm and lock in a rear-naked choke.

Apparently, Holm was ahead of Tate on the scorecards during the first few rounds of the bout. According to Holm, the biggest factor that caused her loss was a lack of urgency. I feel like I knew I was ahead on the scorecards and honestly, maybe I felt like I was getting a little too complacent there instead of being there acting with that sense of urgency. I let her get it way too tight before I tried to shuck her off. Just big mistake.
